Onica is one of our Tier III assistants and one of the two leaders of the Veterinary Assistant Team. She's been with us since May of 2019 and is currently a student working on her Veterinary Nursing Degree at Purdue. In her spare time she likes to read and hang out with her pets.
Tonya has been a member of the Vale Park team since 2019. She hired in as a CSR and has since transitioned to a veterinary assistant. She's worked her way up to be our highest tier level assistant and is now able to assist in our treatment area with surgeries. Tonya really enjoyed her training journey and decided to start veterinary technician school! She's on track to become one of our registered veterinary technicians in the future. She's also one of our main laser technicians for our canine/feline patients. Tonya has a special love for orange cats! You've probably already met her if you brought in your orange kitty.
When she's not working, she enjoys crafting, photography, nature, and going to the beach year-round with her dogs. She has been married 17 years. She has two dogs - Maverick, a 5-year-old Chusky that loves laying in the snow or lounging in the pool; and Aurora, a 1-year-old Border Collie mix that has more energy than she can burn off! She also has two cats - Sofia, a 10-year-old domestic medium hair who loves to snuggle; and Charlie, a 9-year-old orange tabby who loves eating, snacking, and screaming for more food.

Allanna has been a part of the team since July of 2022 and she is currently attending the veterinary technician program at Penn Foster. Her love for the veterinary field started when she was in kindergarten, and one day she plans on going to vet school! Allanna has 2 chihuahuas, Ricco and Gigi, and a betta fish named Alfie. She's very creative and recently started her own small business. Allanna is very grateful for her Vale Park Animal Hospital family, and she loves getting to interact with all of our patients and their pet parents daily!
2022 marked Barb's 26th year as an assistant at Vale Park Animal Hospital! Per Barb, every year is better than the last! Her love for animals inspired her to join the field. She has been involved in animal care and rescue for 30 years! She is the proud cat mom to 3 kitties: Ginger, Buffy, and Stinker Bug (who is her problem child, but she loves her dearly!) Barb attended summer school in Paris, France and was a public-school teacher in Gary, IN for 8 years.
Bri has two years of experience working with animals at Vale Park Animal Hospital. At Ivy Tech, she is currently majoring to become a Physical Therapy Assistant and aiming to graduate in the spring of 2026. Her goal is to expand her knowledge in both humans and animal medical practices during her studies.
Cheyenne has been a member of our team since September of 2022. She first fell in love with vet med starting in 2020 and has a soft spot for cats! Cheyenne has 2 cats of her own at home, Jinx and Creature, and she loves spending time with them. In her free time she enjoys seeing live music. Cheyenne can't wait to see where Vale Park Animal Hospital takes her!
Christy has been in the veterinary field for 17 years and has been at Vale Park for 3 years. She started off as one of our lovely CSR team members, before transitioning into her new role as our pharmacy technician! She absolutely loves animals and veterinary medicine, which is what inspired her to go into the field. She has a house full of pets: 1 dog (Fletcher, a 9-month-old lab who is the best boy), 2 cats (Angus and Snickers, who are both bottle baby rescues); 2 Hermit Crabs (Snap and Pinch); and chickens. She has been married to her husband for 12 years and has a 10-year-old son. She loves backyard chicken keeping and spending time with her family.
Destiny recently joined our team in August 2023 and is currently working as a Tier 1 vet assistant and looks forward to continued training and learning new skills. Previously, she worked at a 100% no kill humane society and worked closely with horses. Destiny came from Noblesville, In and currently resides in the Miller Beach Community. She has a deep-rooted love of animal welfare. When not at work you can find her with her four animals. She has two cats, Beerus, a hairless sphynx, and Nona, a long-haired tabby, and her two pitties, King and Blu. They enjoy frequent trips to Miller Beach.
Jacob "JD" for short just started his career in veterinary medicine, joining Vale Park's team in May of 2023. His mother has been breeding poodles for over a decade now and he currently has 3 poodles at home: Silouette, Raphael, and Josie. JD has recently added a new addition to his family, Slifer, a stray cat he found wandering around his home. Due to his allergy to cats, JD has to take allergy medication daily, but he says she is worth it!
Kaitlyn has been in the veterinary field for 7 years and has been a part of our team since 2020. She is one of our Tier III assistants and spends a few days a week monitoring anesthesia. She loves performing blood draws and placing catheters. Kaitlyn knew that she wanted to work with animals for as long as she can remember and she loves helping pets in need. She is a proud dog mom of Kenji, her 4-year-old Shiba Inu (who she rescued when he was 5 months old), and Cooper, her 4-year-old long haired Chihuahua (whom she rescued in September of 2020). In her spare time she loves traveling, kayaking, going to concerts and playing video games.
Karolina has been a veterinary assistant at Vale Park for a year and a half. She will be graduating this winter with a major in health studies & a minor in biology. She is wanting to become a veterinarian in the future and came to Vale Park to gain experience and exposure in working with animals. Karolina has 2 dogs that were adopted from Lakeshore Paws - Izzy, a 9 year old Lab/Boxer mix that is very smart and loves walks; and Penny, a 5 year old Lab/Hound mix that is very affectionate & a jealous gal around Izzy. In her spare time, she loves to hang out with friends & go hiking.
Megan has been in the veterinary field for 14 years, and joined our team in March of 2023. Megan has brought her expertiese to our pharmacy, where she fills prescriptions for your beloved pets. Megan is a part-time employee, having embraced the role of a twin mom to adorable twin girls born two years ago. Megan finds solace in her work, cherishing the moments she spends caring for your pets as a much needed break from the joyful chaos of raising twins.
Michelle has recently returned to the veterinary medicine field after taking time to stay home with her 4 boys. She has an associates degree in Veterinary technology from Brown Mackie. In addition to her 4 boys, she has 3 dogs at home, 2 pitbulls and 1 newfounland mix. A farm girl at heart, she has a love for big dogs and large animals.
Molly has been a part of the Vale Park family for over 5 years. She started as a lab assistant and moved up to assistant land. She is one of our Tier 3 assistants and has a couple days in treatment performing dental cleanings. Her love for animals is what inspired her to work at Vale Park. She is a proud pet mom to many, many animals! Some with legs and some without, some with fur, and some with scales. She loves all kinds of frogs! Molly is an avid photographer and jewelry maker in her spare time. She also loves travelling and being outdoors, as well as camping and going to various concerts and music festivals.
Sam recently returned to VPAH in the fall of 2023. Her love for animals brought her back to the field. She is currently attending Purdue University Global for her Bachelors Degree in Nutrition. In her free time she loves spending time in nature and practicing yoga. She has 3 fur babies a mini golden doodle named Noah and 2 cats, Frankie and Bellamy. Sam enjoys helping her fur patients every day and getting to know their owners!
Sydney has a Bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences from Purdue University and joined the VPAH team 1 1/2 years ago. She is one of our Tier 3 assistants and spends a few days a week in our treatment area monitoring anesthesia. Sydney loves taking X-Rays and drawing blood, but her favorite part of the job is assisting with C-Sections and caring for the newborn pups. Sydney has 4 dogs. Zelda (12-year-old Potcake) and Gatsby (9-year-old Potcake) are rescues from the Turks and Caicos Islands. She also has Henry (3-year-old Golden Doodle), and the love of her life, Bruce, her 9-year-old chunky, toothless rescue that she adopted during her time at Purdue. She also has a yellow-bellied slider turtle named Guac. In her free time, Sydney loves to oil paint and has over 90 completed works. She also has a love of classic rock and plays guitar. Her favorite band is Led Zeppelin.
