Growing up in West Lafayette, IN, Dr. Jerry Rodenbarger was destined to be a “Boilermaker”! He is a 1979 graduate from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jerry’s professional areas of interest are small animal (dogs and cats) and equine. He also has a special interest in orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, and reproduction. Dr. Jerry is a primary surgeon at Vale Park Animal Hospital. He uses the latest in surgical technology, and is well skilled with our hospital’s surgical laser as well as our laproscope used for minimally invasive procedures. His wife, Linda, teaches 2nd grade and together they have raised three great children (now all adults). Outside activities and interests include church, community volunteerism, virtually all sports, and travel.

Dr. Mary Ann Sheller is a 1984 graduate from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sheller enjoys soft-tissue surgery and has a special interest in canine reproduction, breeding and infertility. She has been certified by Zoetis Corporation, Inc. since 1994. Our facility is an official semen freezing center. Some of the reproduction services offered are fresh chilled breedings, infertility work-ups, TransCervical Inseminations (TCI) and surgical insemination. Vale Park Animal Hospital is the only certified semen freezing center in Northwest Indiana. Outside of the office Dr. Sheller enjoys theatre, traveling and spending time with her animal children.

Dr. Kimberly Juhlin is a 1990 honor graduate from Veterinary School at Massey University in New Zealand. During her early years in practice her work was primarily focused on small animal emergency and critical care medicine. She transitioned into General Practice at Vale Park Animal Hospital in 1997. “Dr. Kim” holds a special interest in Integrative Medicine. Integrative Medicine combines western conventional medicine with other forms of Complementary Therapies. In addition to conventional western medicine, diagnostics and treatments, Dr. Kim incorporates Nutrition Counseling, Nutritional Supplements, Herbal Medicine, Therapeutic laser and Acupuncture to formulate an individualized therapeutic or wellness health plan for each patient. Dr. Kim Juhlin lives in Valparaiso, Indiana with her husband, her dog,’ Lucy’ and her cat, ‘Pearl’. She enjoys bicycling, hiking, yoga and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Bill Donohue was born and raised in Crown Point, Indiana. He graduated undergrad from Purdue University Calumet in 2001 prior to veterinary school. He graduated from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. While attending vet school, he was president of Omega Tau Sigma (OTS), a social and community service co-ed fraternity. Dr. Bill joined the Vale Park Animal Hospital Family in May 2006. He has a special interest in internal medicine, oncology, dermatology and wellness care in dogs and cats. He enjoys helping clients maintain a long healthy relationship with their pets. During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Cyndi (also a veterinarian) and his 3 children Nora, Lainey, and Liam!! As an avid football fan, he enjoys football year round but mostly his competitive fantasy football league. Yearly trips to state and national parks to enjoy the fall colors and hiking with his girls fulfills days.
Dr. Booth has experience in small animal veterinary practice and emergency medicine. She knew from a young age that veterinary medicine was for her and throughout school she maintained her focus. After completing two years of pre-veterinary studies at Purdue North Central she continued on to Purdue Lafayette and graduated from Purdue in 2000, with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. Dr. Booth started her career in small animal practice then spent 7 years of practice at North Central Emergency Center. When she left emergency practice she went back to small animal general practice and is now with us. Dr. Booth has been teaching Pet CPR and First Aid for the since 2002, and belongs to the ASERT (animal surveillance and response team) of Northwest Indiana. Dr. Booth is also very involved with animal welfare and currently volunteers with Lakeshore Paws. She has received many commendations from local fire and police departments for her instruction in animal safety. Her work with the police departments inspired her to start her 501c3 non-profit organization Kits for K9's in which she not only instructs K9 officers in first and and CPR but also supplies each officer with a first aid kit. In two years her organization has handed out over 200 first aid kits to police officers all over the United States. Dr. Booth lives in Westville with her husband, two children, two happy Dachshunds, and one crazy Great Dane.
Dr. Brent Lakia is the newest member to our team, but many of you may remember him. He graduated from Chesterton High School and worked at Vale Park Animal Hospital while he was still in the area. After graduating from Purdue University as an undergraduate, he came back and worked at VPAH while he was getting his Master's degree at Ball State University, before going on to vet school in the Caribbean at Ross University and doing his clinical rotations at Oklahoma State University. When Dr. Brent started in practice, he went into emergency medicine at referral centers in Cincinnati and Milwaukee before deciding it was time to come home. He is excited to be back at Vale Park Animal Hospital, almost 20 years later. Dr. Brent is married to his wife, Kelly, and they have three lovely children that keep them on their toes. They have a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and a Border Collie mix, in addition to two cats. In their spare time, they enjoy Chicago and Purdue sports, hiking, fishing, and golf.
